At the invitation of the Chinese Association for International Understanding, Deogracias Victor Savellano, Vice Governor of Philippines’ Ilocos Sur Province, headed an 8-member young politician delegation to visit Guangdong from October 25 to 27, 2006.

    The CPC Guangdong Committee Vice Secretary and GDPAFFC Honorable Chairman Liu Yupu met with and hosted a banquet for the visiting delegation on October 26. Liu extended his warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the CPC Guangdong Committee and provincial government and briefed them on Guangdong’s social and economic development along with Guangdong-Philippine economic and trade cooperation. Liu hoped the delegation’s visit will enhance mutual exchanges among young politicians and promote Guangdong-Philippine cooperation in trade and tourism area so as to achieve common development.

    The delegation paid a visit to the Legislation Committee of the Standing Committee of Guangdong People’s Congress on October 26, where they were briefed on Guangdong’s lawmaking process. They also visited Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. The delegation members said they admire the achievements Guangdong scored in economic and social development, adding they are willing to make efforts to promote mutual friendly exchanges and cooperation.
