Chen Runsen, Deputy Director General of the Administration of Sports of Guangdong Province, hosted a welcome evening banquet for the visiting Gyeonggi Province sports delegation, a 35-member delegation from Korea, in GITIC Riverside Hotel, Guangzhou, on September 26, 2006. Wang Shitong, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, also attended the welcome banquet.

Based on mutual exchange agreement, Guangdong and Gyeonggi commenced sending sports delegation composed of amateurs to visit each other every other year for friendship match such soccer, table tennis, swimming, etc. since 2004 in order to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between Guangdong and Gyeonggi. It's the second time that Gyeonggi sends sports delegation for Guangdong tour. Delegation members held friendship soccer and swimming matches with local amateurs from Guangzhou and Dongguan, who were deeply impressed by Korean counterparts' team work and hard-working.

Gyeonggi, a big sports and economic province in Korea, is well-reputed for its soccer and tae kwon do. Sports official from Guangdong and Gyeonggi also explored the possibility of tae kwon do exchanges in next year.
